Tuesday Night Jazz Featuring The Ronnie Foster Trio

Nov 14th, 2017
9:00 PM - 11:00 PM

One of the true legends of the Hammond Organ Ronnie learned on the Bench from the master himself Jimmy Smith.
His albums recorded for Blue Note Records in the 1970s has obtained a cult following after the emergence of acid-jazz.
Ronnie has performed as a sideman with a wide range of musicians. He frequently worked with guitarist George Benson, including playing electric piano, mini-moog, and composing “Lady” on Benson’s 1976 album Breezin’. Foster has also played organ with Chet Atkins, Grant Green, Grover Washington, Jr., Stanley Turrentine, Roberta Flack, Earl Klugh, Harvey Mason, Jimmy Smith, and Stevie Wonder. His producing credits include albums by Brazilian artists Djavan and Pepeu Gomes. Ronnie is currently the musical director for “Smokey Robinson Presents: Human Nature” which appears at The Venetian Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.
Ronnie has put together a new group featuring Guitarist Jake Langley and Drummer Jess Gopen.  They play Jazz, Funk, Blues, Soul and Latin music taking the B3 trio into uncharted territory yet remaining firmly rooted in the tradition.  The Ronnie Foster Trio is getting national attention and Ronnie was recently inducted into the Jazz Organ Hall of fame and we headlined the San Jose and Monterey Jazz Festivals last month.  The new CD “Reboot” is scheduled for release in the new year.
